Privacy Policy

Introduction

RangeIQ ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information RangeIQ collects and how we use it when you use our poker-coaching application on iOS or Android.

In short: we collect the account you sign in with, the coaching questions and answers in your chats, and usage analytics tied to your account, so the coach can work, remember your progress, and improve. Coaching questions are processed by a secure cloud service and an AI model to generate answers. We never sell your data.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique account identifier and your email address so we can create and secure your account and sync your progress. If you use Sign in with Apple's private-relay email, we only ever see the relay address.

Coaching Content

To answer your questions, RangeIQ stores and processes the messages you send to the coach, the answers it returns, your chat history, and the drills, courses, and progress it builds for you (including which spots you get right or wrong). This is what lets the coach be conversational and adapt to your leaks.

AI & Solver Requests

When you ask the coach a question, your message and relevant context are sent to our secure backend, which calls a solver and a third-party AI language model to generate a grounded answer. These requests are used only to produce your response and operate the service.

Hand Histories You Upload

If you use hand-history analysis, you upload a hand-history file exported from your poker site. These files describe other players as well as you. They contain the screen names of everyone at your tables, the cards they showed, and the amounts they wagered. By uploading, you confirm you are entitled to share that file with us; we process it only to analyze your decisions.

What we do with an upload:

  • We convert it into our own format and grade your preflop decisions against our solver. That analysis is entirely deterministic: no AI model is involved in grading a hand.
  • If we do not recognize your site's file format, we send a small sample of hands (typically about eight) to our third-party AI provider so it can work out the layout. Other players' screen names are replaced with placeholders before those sample hands leave our systems. Nothing else from your file is sent to the AI provider, and once a format is learned it is reused for everyone, so this happens rarely.
  • We never build profiles of the other players in your file. We do not produce opponent statistics, we do not carry other players' data between uploads, and we do not sell or share any of it.

Uploaded files and the analysis derived from them are stored encrypted on Amazon S3 in the United States. See Data Retention for how long we keep each part.

Usage Analytics & Diagnostics

We collect product analytics (which features are used, session data, device model, OS version, app version) and crash/performance diagnostics to find bugs and improve the app. These analytics are linked to your account: when you sign in we associate your account identifier and email address with your analytics profile, so we can tell whether a change actually helped the same person over time. They are not anonymous, and we would rather say so plainly. Crash and performance diagnostics are configured to exclude personally identifying information.

RangeIQ does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and does not use your device's advertising identifier at all.

Subscriptions

RangeIQ Premium is processed by the store you installed from: Apple through the App Store, or Google through Google Play. The store handles your payment; we (via our subscription provider, RevenueCat) receive only your subscription status so we can unlock Premium. We never see your payment card or billing details.

App Integrity

We use Firebase App Check, backed by Apple App Attest on iOS and the Google Play Integrity API on Android, to verify that requests come from a genuine, unmodified copy of the app. This produces a device attestation token and does not identify you.

How We Use Your Information

  • To operate the coach: answer your questions and keep your chats, drills, and progress.
  • To personalise your training around the leaks you actually have.
  • To maintain your account and unlock Premium features.
  • To analyse usage and fix bugs so the app gets better.
  • To protect the service from abuse and verify app integrity.

Third-Party Services

We share the minimum necessary data with service providers who help us run RangeIQ, under their own privacy terms:

  • Apple: Sign in with Apple, App Store payments, App Attest (iOS).
  • Google: Sign in with Google, Google Play payments, Firebase App Check and the Play Integrity API (Android).
  • RevenueCat: subscription management.
  • PostHog: product analytics, including your account identifier and email address.
  • An AI language-model provider: to generate coaching answers from your questions, and, for an unrecognized hand-history format, to identify the file's layout from a small sample of hands with other players' names replaced.
  • Amazon Web Services: to run the backend and store your account data, coaching data, and any hand histories you upload.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Data Retention

We keep your account and coaching data while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data from our systems (some records may persist briefly in backups or where required by law).

Uploaded hand histories are kept to a shorter schedule, because they describe other players as well as you:

  • The file you uploaded is deleted within 14 days. We keep it only long enough to investigate a failed analysis against the real file. It is not needed after that, and it is the part containing other players' raw details.
  • Hand-by-hand detail is kept only for Premium subscribers, capped at 100 MB per account. Past that, the oldest upload's detail is deleted to make room. This deletion is permanent: we do not archive it, and it cannot be restored by upgrading.
  • Summary results are kept while your account is active: your own statistics and the leaks we found. These contain no other player's information, and they are what lets us show whether your play improved between uploads.
  • Deleting your account deletes all of it, including every uploaded file and all derived analysis.

Your Choices & Rights

  • Delete your account: you can delete it yourself from inside the app (gear menu → Delete Account), which removes your account and personal data permanently. See Delete your account for the full steps and for what to do if you no longer have the app installed.
  • Access a copy: email us to request a copy of your data.
  • Sign-in email: on iOS, use Sign in with Apple's private relay to keep your address hidden.

Children

RangeIQ is intended for adults (18+) studying poker strategy. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
